Tower of London, Old Billingsgate, & the Monument - 1.5 km

This is one of London's most historic and oldest areas, with the Tower of London established here in 1070 and London Bridge as the only bridge into London until Westminster Bridge was built in 1750. It has historically been the main area for river trade and commerce, with the Port of London and Custom House sited close to the Tower of London. This short discovery route takes you from Tower Hill Station to London Bridge Station along the north side of the River Thames, past the Tower of London, Custom House, Old Billingsgate Market and London Bridge, with pubs and eating places at the start and end of the route

Limehouse, Shadwell, Wapping, St Katharine Docks – 4.7 km

This route takes you along the Thames Path that links London Docklands to the ancient sites of the City of London. It starts at Limehouse Basin Marina and then hugs the rivers through Wapping before finishing up at St Katherine Docks and the Tower of London on the eastern edge of the City of London. It is great for cityscapes, river views, parks, marinas, and historic and iconic sights. It is mainly off-road, with several places to eat and drink towards the end.

Docklands – Middle Dock, Westferry & Limehouse – 2.3 km

This route takes you through the heart of the financial district in Canary Wharf, along Middle Dock with its modern buildings, and then along the riverside at Westferry before finishing off with the calm waters and canal networks within Limehouse Basin Marina.

Docklands – Poplar Dock, Canary Wharf, South Dock – 4.0 km

Discover Canary Wharf's emerging scenic ‘cityscape’ as this route unfolds. It will take you from East India DLR, through Blackwall and then into tranquil Poplar Dock Marina. It then flows into Blackwall Basin, reflecting the cityscape in the water, and continues through the eastern entrance into Canary Wharf. From there, it explores the east side of Canary Wharf near Canada Square and South Dock before finishing at Canary Wharf Station

Trinity Wharf, East India Docks, City Island – 4.4 km

This route starts in the new thriving areas of Royal Victoria Docks, which combine water sports, cable car trips across to the O2, and fantastic dockside views. It makes its way to the newly developed City Island via the Lower Lee Crossing.

Royal Docks, ExCel Centre & City Hall – 1.7 km

Victoria Dock was opened in 1855 and was designed specifically to accommodate large steam ships. Today, this historic route is both scenic and quiet, with references to its past, present, and future. The short route takes you past the Excel Exhibition Centre, across the Royal Victoria Footbridge (with its spectacular views towards Docklands, Millennium Mill and City Airport), around the dock, the water sport activities, City Hall and IFS Cloud Cable Car to the O2.

Marble Arch, Hyde Park, Mayfair and Shepherd Market

This route travels across Mayfair from Marble Arch to Hyde Park Corner. Mayfair is famous for its affluent residents, luxury and high-end shopping streets, and Georgian and Victorian architecture. On its western edge is Hyde Park, on its eastern side are the luxury shops of Bond Street and Regent Street, and to its south are Hyde Park Corner, Green Park, and Buckingham Palace.

Marylebone High Street and Oxford Street Shopping

This pleasant route showcases two distinct sides of London. The journey down Marylebone High Street, with its village feel, offers a calm contrast to the roaring traffic to its north and the frenetic shopping along Oxford Street to its south. Marylebone offers a mix of shops and places to eat and drink, as well as Victorian architecture and cultural venues. Wigmore Street features wide, quiet, and historic streets lined with impressive buildings. The final part takes you towards Marble Arch along the western side of Oxford Street, past its remaining department stores.

The BBC, Portland Place, Regent’s Park & Baker Street

This route takes you from the busy shopping streets around Oxford Circus, up past the BBC and the stunning Regency architecture of Portland Place, and into the beautifully landscaped Regent’s Park with its delightful gardens, peaceful ponds and fabulous walks. The route finishes at the top end of Marylebone by Baker Street Station, with the Sherlock Holmes Museum, Madam Tussauds and Marylebone High Street nearby.

Bond Street, Regent Street & Carnaby Street Shopping - 1.4 km Route

A fashionable shopping tour across the West End
This 1.5 Km route takes you from Green Park to Oxford Circus through some of London’s most famous and historical shopping areas. It starts on Piccadilly, an area that has always catered to the needs of a gentleman, before heading up Old and New Bond Street, designed in the 1700s for the high-class luxury shopper. It then makes its way to Regent Street and Carnaby Street, which have been associated with fashion and trendy shopping since the early 1800s, before finishing off at Oxford Street with shops and departmental stores to suit everyone

Royal Parks, The Mall, Buckingham & St James’s Palace - 2.3 km Route

This route takes you from Piccadilly Circus to Green Park, past two royal palaces, two royal parks, and famous London landmarks. This area was once known as the Court of St James and served the royal St James’s Palace at the end of Pall Mall and later Buckingham Palace. The route is lined with fine examples of English architecture, wide streets, and grand buildings leading to the royal palaces and their adjoining gardens – St James’s Park and Green Park.

Covent Garden, London Eye, Big Ben, Leicester Square - 5.7 km Route

This Discovery route takes you from Covent Garden to Piccadilly Circus via the South Bank, Westminster, Whitehall, and Leicester Square and contains some of London’s most famous landmarks. It is a fantastic route for exploring the entertainment areas of Covent Garden and Leicester Square, as well as some of the main sightseeing attractions, including the Royal Festival Hall, the London Eye, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, and Trafalgar Square.

Old Bailey, Smithfield, Holborn, and the Inns of Court - 4 km Route

This exciting route takes you on a discovery tour of all the places that link the City of London to Central London. It contains many of the City of London’s historic institutions and icons, such as St Paul’s Cathedral, the Old Bailey Law Court, Spitalfields Meat Market, St Bartholomew’s Hospital, the Museum of London, High Holborn London Universities, and the Inns of Courts.

The route starts at the Tower of London, which has stood as a symbol of London and its power for almost 1000 years, and then heads towards Aldgate - the old eastern gate to the City of London. It then continues onto the skyscrapers around Cornhill that represent the modern financial quarter of the City of London and its historic centre at the Bank of England. The route then returns to the river, passing the Monument to the Great Fire of London and finishing at the Shard
